You will need:
- Foam people (included in The Multicultural Craft Set)
- Coloured playdough
I make my own play dough which is simple and the boys love it.
My go-to playdough recipe is:
- 2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup salt
- 2 tablespoon cream of tartar
- 2 tablespoon oil
- 1 1/2 cup boiled water
- Food Colouring
Mix all the ingredients together, knead the dough and you have your own playdough which is toxic free. I then separate the dough into sections and add food colouring.
Once you have your play dough and your foam people encourage your children to dress them up - conversations would include is it hot or cold?
Then put on faces, it's better to do the faces last as they need really small pieces of playdough and they will realise that with trial and error. Talk about the emotions with them how is your person feeling are they happy, sad, excited, hungry?
This activity helps with building conversation and fine motor skills.
